Draupadi I am
For not marrying five men
but embracing five virtues of them
Arising from the fire like her
Being honest, truthful and unparalleled
Draupadi I am
Mindful of my thoughts
Believing the infinite krishna
the supreme enternal energy
the translucent force of existence
Draupadi I am
learning the lessons of life
as she learnt the vedas and shastra
playing with words like her with arts
being brave amidst getting ripped apart
Draupadi I am
Every time I looked upon the God
saved by the miracle hands of HIS
arising from the sea of disgrace
fierce enough to believe HIM and arise
Draupadi I am
The day I decided to marry integrity
No matter what, will be honest to my thoughts
to my quest and to my deeds
Living every moment truthfully as it is last
Draupadi I am
The day I decided to marry courage
To be brutally brave and be strong
A well-deserved choice and willingness
to confront pain, agony and intimidations
Draupadi I am
The day I embraced the smartness within
wilfully struggling to be skilfully high
fighting every battle of life
with the mighty will and wisdom of Arjuna
Draupadi I am
The day I married being humble
attractive, diplomatic and helpful
Loving to cook and feed people
Always wanting my akshyapatra refilled
Draupadi I am
The day I awakened to be beautiful
making God my everyday companion
Life making me wise, mystically compassionate
Faith is the biggest sword I used to fight
Yes, Draupadi I am
Just because, Krishna is my name
what matters most, is HOW
well you walk through the fire!
And become one with Lord in life's game!
Very powerful poem. Great Going Umasree
