Lord Shani statue is under the open sky
The Statue of Lord Shani in Shani Shingnapur Temple is under the
open sky. You must be thinking that why is it so?
There is a little story behind it.
When the statue was found by the shepherds, on that night Lord
Shani appeared in the dream of one of the shepherds. And told him about
worshipping the statue and some details about how to worship.
Then the shepherd asked Lord Shani whether he should build a
temple for the statue. To this Lord, Shani replied that there is no need for a
roof. The whole sky is my roof.
