#CSCCAN1 - Celebrating Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq Treaty Day at Mikmaq Native Friendship Centre Halifax Nova Scotia

After an amazing high profile kick off, we attended the Nova Scotia Treaty Day celebration dinner at Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre, where Halifax Mayor Mike Savage surprisingly recognized us as the amazing IBMers on CSC mission and joined us for dinner...

Celebrating the spirit of First Nations & Mi'kMaq Community celebrating the indigenous roots and the tradition, respect for Elders and Treaty Day (Nova Scotia) on 1 Oct 2018 Monday 6 PM at Halifax

Residents and visitors are invited to help celebrate Treaty Day, marking the 25thanniversary of Mi’kmaq History Month on Monday, Oct. 1.    As proclaimed in 1993 by then Premier John Savage and Mi’kmaq Grand Chief Ben Sylliboy, Treaty Day marks the beginning of Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia.

We had the great privilege to know about the great history of the Mikmaq community, join their community dinner and meet the Elders and also enjoy their traditional music on drums.  We also had the additional opportunity to meet Halifax City Mayor and dine with him and share some great things about Halifax
