Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 7- Several reasons why Rajesh and Nupur would not have axed their only child?

Aarushi was their dream child., after 11 years of waiting, through a strenuous process of IVF, the child was born as a symbol of their love marriage.

• Both are educated and highly talented professionals, having a high sense of commonsense, social awareness and ample aspirations for their only child

• Employing a nepali male servant in a house, when both parents are busy with highly demanding professions is not uncommon in upper middle class India and cannot be blamed for they were not having a teen guy at home, but a matured fatherly figure Hemraj who also regarded Aarushi as ‘betti’.

• Aarushi was a normal teen in a upper middle class family, having access to internet, cell phone, friends, co-education, foreign trips, planned vacations and holidays, regular tantrums, celebrations of birthdays and every special day (remember her Father day cards that were beautifully written to commend how best his dad could be in this world)

• Parents sleeping just 6 feet away in another room and not hearing anything is a quite possibility with Window AC’s on in both the rooms. CBI did the trail check of the same situation and confirmed that they did not hear any sound when they replicated the situation.

• Parents locking the room. It is not a literal locking but having the automatic door locks for safety when the child is sleeping in another room and keeping the keys safely. In matured modern society, children no longer cling to the beds of their parents as practiced in most parts of the world. So putting their only child, who is well aware of what is right and wrong to sleep in a different room is no sin. I wouldn’t think that any mother would not tell her daughter to close the door and sleep, for various reasons. Why do media make this a big issue is nothing but a drama!

• Parents not grieving in public. Is being composed and shocked is a sin? Why should they grieve in front of the camera…to garner your sympathies? Heights of public expectations. Are we not moving to a more matured world where we stand in silence during funerals and grief in private? If the parents are boldly facing the cameras and not crying in front of public, does it mean that it should cost them their innocence?

• Parents being awake till midnight on the night of the crime. Rajesh Talwar have confirmed that he was awake late that night, as he made phone calls to his brother in law and also an association in US for which he had to sent some subscriptions and it was only post midnight he went to bed. 60% of working parents, who are doctors, and who see patients till 9 or 10 pm, end up sleeping around midnight. That was usual for them. Not planning up a murder of their only daughter. Being doctors, they could have killed her in more planned and peaceful way if that was their only intention.

• Aarushi’s boy friend giving clues against her dad…This is another absurd theory. Aarushi spoke to Anmol for close to 600 times in 2 months before her death and all were normal calls that happen between teenagers and friends in school. They were not lengthy conversations like crying and cribbing over some issue. 90% of coeducated children today spend 50% of their time on internet and cell phones. It is the system today. For upper Noida and delhi kids, I don’t think this would be strange. May be for the conservative society that still thinks talking between boys and girls is a crime , yes this would sound absurd.

• Aarushi being angry with Rajesh Talwar in one of her Orkut messages…it is not being angry. It is being pleading to go for a movie with friends for which Rajesh refused. Just like any other parent would do usually. Even we warn our teen daughter not to post pics on facebook, does that mean that she will be technically angry on us to create a forever rift? Give me a break!

• Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj having sex, Rajesh finding them in compromising positions and what not. Such a cheap statements from Noida police because of the ongoing honour killings in Haryana, Punjab and many other states. I don’t think Aarushi would have ever stopped to such a low of having a affair with a fatherly man who is a servant in their house. She defiantly had better friends and options if she wanted to.

• Murder done with a clinical precision… Possibile it is done by a professional killer too. I don’t think doctors would find it easy to plan splitting their daughter’s throat and to see her go from this world. She was the most beautiful child, well behaved and parents wanted to give her the world. Either they should have been mentally retarted to do such a barbaric act and Talwars definitely are not.

• Talwars parents were all well established and served in Armed forces and have high social values. There was no motive of money or honor killing in this case as the parents themselves were in love marriage, and any of Aarushi’s expectations would have been met with counseling, warning or changing lifestyle but killing would not have been the only way for them to get of any such oddity.

• Rajesh Talwar having affair with Anitha Durrani. Another theory that burnt with the time. Anitha and Rajesh shared the same premises to work and that is very common in doctor community to share clinics and hospitals to see their patients at different timings. Nupur and Rajesh loved each other and got married. Anitha was close to Nupur and their children were best friends and classmates. So the intimacy is at the level of family friendship and may not be on an extra marital affair. Even if that is the case, I am sure, Rajesh would have known to conceal it from Aarushi and she would not have been affected by it. Aarushi would have gone to Nupur to support if she found something fishy about her dad than to Hemraj.

• Why could not Hemaraj had an extra marital affair or something outside his work in Noida when his ailing family is far in Nepal and that could have been the trigger for turmoil?

• Hemaraj was troubled and tensed and feared his life and approached a social worker. If he was afraid of Talwars, he would have taken the next train and run to his son in law or his family back in Nepal and not wait for them to come and kill him one night? So there is something else that he was afraid of and no one knows what it is?

• Dinesh Talwar trying to conceal the postmortem report. This is again an unproved theory as there could be chances that any family member would approach to know the findings but I don’t think any sensible person would ask the facts to be concealed when it comes to report of a little girl. Moreover, parents were never ashamed to talk about the vaginal swab or the white discharge of their daughter in front of the media and I don’t think they would have made attempts to conceal the fact if she was raped. That would have infact raged a educated and responsible mother like Nupur and would have only helped her stance of innocence stronger.

• Circumstancial evidence makes Talwars accused. This country witnessed millions of cases where there were so many eye witnesses and other forensic evidence but people escaping punishment just because they are capable of that. Talwars seem to be fighting with straightforward approach and that is what is making them stand behind bars today.

• If the theory that ‘Innocent till Proven Guilt’ still holds right in Indian Judiciary, then Talwars cannot be arrested unless someone comes out with concrete evidence against them.

• Aarushi and friends having sleepovers at their home and wanting privacy. How stupid of police to cliam that they were indulged in some sexual activity? The kids wanting to be alone to giggle around, play and talk, should not always indicate that it is an inappropriate gathering for some activity sounds hilarious.

• Talwars never refused to undergo Narco analysis tests or any other investigation methods and have cooperated with grace in all of their investigations. They repeated 100 times the same set of facts they were aware of to the media and police and CBI. No one found an inconsistency in what they said.

• The police couldn’t fathom a household where a teenage girl receiving a bouquet of flowers from an admirer leaves her parents unruffled. They were busy insinuating that her school project on drug addiction meant she had dodgy interests. The media were to also make ominous noises about Aarushi’s activities on Facebook and Orkut, about her having 688 ‘transactions’ with a boy from school over 45 days. 688 transactions. An average of 15 phone calls, SMSs, missed calls per day. Any beleaguered urban parent would have explained the phenomena to the UP police — it’s a teenager with a phone. But the police and media were to use this to build a portrait of promiscuity. As Pinaki Mishra, a lawyer who advises the Talwars told TEHELKA in 2008, “The whole lot have been bred on Manohar Kahaniyan, seeing sex everywhere.”

• Police not being informed before relatives in this murder. That is quite natural. If I am hurt, I would only run to my comfort zone first than to my social zone. What did police do after they came to know? They did not protect the crime scene from being tampered by people, neighbours, relatives, and press

• The insensitivity with which the police handled this crime, the media and police passing verdicts before even the investigations began. The police officer not even getting Aarushi’s name right, went on to pass derogatory comments of the victim, her family and friends and what not. Who allows this kind of defamation just because they were normal citizens in this country? Scary. If it happened to them, it can happen to any other common people in this country. Scary!

• Scene of crime dressed up heavily even before the maid arrived. The killer could have done it. Be it Talwars or not. They had enough time from the murder till dawn before they escaped

• Touch DNA is an experimental method and is insisted by talwars to be conducted which is not heard by investigation authorities. Though this could be validated right or wrong, can still stop them from running behind this method and prove either way

• If the Talwars had tampered the crime scene, why have they not hidden the whiskey bottle that had blood strains on it?

• Why Rajesh suspected Hemraj initially of killing Aarushi, was that other than they too, it was Hemraj alone who lived in that house and all probability that he killed her and escaped with some motive. As the house was locked from all sides as it used to be. Servants killing people of the house was not a rare phenomenon in Delhi /Noida in the recent past and had Rajesh done this crime, he would have planned a different story, having known that Hemaraj is also dead. For the body was just in the terrace of his house.

• On the night of the 15th, Umesh dropped Rajesh at the house and went to park the car at Nupur’s parents’ house nearby. When he returned to the Talwars’ house to deposit the car keys, he saw Nupur and Aarushi near the dining table and saw Rajesh coming out of his bedroom. Umesh says the clothes Rajesh was wearing the morning after the murders were the same as the ones he saw him wearing the previous evening when he came to return the keys. This opens up a line of enquiry. If Rajesh had committed the murders under sudden provocation, as the CBI says, where was the blood of both victims on his clothes the next morning?”

• Why would the Talwars push the CBI to keep investigating the case if they were guilty? Why would they leave the biggest trump of a clue in plain sight on their dining table — the Ballantine’s whiskey bottle with acres of fingerprints and both victims’ blood marks — if they had ‘dressed up’ the scene after committing the crime?

• Why won’t the CBI conduct touch DNA testing on the bottle and other evidence and simply put all the speculation to rest? Again, why would the Talwars agitate for such testing if they had something to hide?

• Talwars made Easiest available victim. The police made a mess of the case, they see no hope of finding the real culprits…

• Some one could have been in grudge and scuffle with Rajesh or even Hemraj

• A 8 or 9 foot size blood strain have been found next to Hemaraj’s body on the terrace. The hand print on the wall with the blood strain also did not match with Rajesh or Nupur. So there have to be a third person

• Investigation on the simple life of Hemraj is not done completely and his contacts when he was a rickshaw puller in Delhi. There could be flip side to his other wise innocent life too

• The narco tests of Krishna, said that they three were with Hemraj on the night having drinks in the terrace. Why is this not figured anywhere in the closure report

• If nacro tests results of servants are dismissed as false, then why are Talwars put through them again in 2010 during the CBI team 2 investigation

• Nupur being an Army kid puts up a bold face in front of media and answers to all the questions raised calmly and composedly. Broughtup in the military family and educated in a professional medical fraternity, I guess she gained that composure which is wrongly opinionated by the press and general public.

• Aarushi’s class teaches and school proved that she was a brilliant kid, supposedly to be a head girl the following year, and scored high which means that the girl gave importance to education and her aspiration to be a pediatrician or a dancer.

• Aarushi’s dance school and her friends said hundreds of times, how lively and happy child she was. Media almost projected her as a sex starving child which is totally absurd and wrong. She was a modern teenager full of fun and life and aiming her usual highs in career and entry to AIIMS

• Aarushi’s father’s day cards clearly denote that she shared a strong bond with her parents and they were doing everything for her best in the world. There are absolutely remote chances that they would kill her in spur of the moment rage

• Rajesh Talwar said to kill his daughter and wash her private parts. This sounds ridiculous on the father-child relationship. Rajesh would not be able to live with such a guilt for so many years after the incident had he done so and the fact that he boldy still fights for justice is clear indicator of what a sensitive father he was.

• Aarushilegacy and the activity of the NGO set up by the parents show their courage to move on with her memory despite their own fates handing at the destiny of courts that no longer care for people’s emotions and sensitivity

• I don’t think parents would have killed her for what so ever reasons and live in a house surrounded by her pictures in every nook and corner of the house, reminding them of the gruesome crime they committed. It clearly shows that they are reliving her good memories in all those pictures, people, please be sensitive !

• What is it that they are going to achieve by killing their daughter. Their dreams and full life’s effort is gone in vain

• Hemaraj could have had an extra marital affair as his family was away in Nepal for year and he lived in slums as rickshaw puller earlier. Why should the Talwars alone be blamed.

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 6- Hemraj and his hidden past - Why investigations fail in this angel?

Hemaraj is a innocent servant and cannot be blamed.  He is from a poor Nepali family and had meagre earnings.  He called Aarushi -  ' Aarushi Baby'. and treated her as his daughter.  Would he have made attempts to sexually abuse her?

Hemraj told lies that he worked in Malaysia before joining Talwars which is not true.  He was a rickshaw puller in Delhi.  Why did he lie?

If he would have approached the local social worked as she claimed?  why did he live in the same roof with talwars...why did not he flee to his son in law or confide in his friends?

Hemraj is also killed and equally abused.  But the angel of his relationships, contacts and whereabouts of his affairs are not unearthered in detail.    Hemraj's angel is totally ignored by media also just because he is a poor servant?

Hemraj and his friends and his habits have totally became immune to the case?  Neither he can nor his family could defend themselves and at the same time...he is also a sad victim?  Or was he is the reason for both the murders.

Was he involved in an affair in delhi with a married women as some journalists scribbled and that was the reason for his murder and Aarushi also became a victim because she witnessed the rustle.

Was he in good terms with his son in law who raises slogans now and then in the press?    Do we have direct answers for all these questions and why people only think about justice to Aarushi.

Are Hemraj's family not in need of knowing the truth as well and see justice?   Losing their sole bread winner and troubled by poverty and sickness... are they are not eligible for justice though they dont live in the land?

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 5- Why justice in this case is important? and Closure of CBI report is wrong?

Aarushi Talwar case has an impact on both children who know her and who dont her....thanks to the media hype and introduction of this case to Indian Children all over the world.

The end result of this case is crucial not to have an adverse impact on the young minds where 70% of urban youth is driven by opinions created by unthinking media jouranlists, senseless police going by nonsense declarations on this case.  It is equally important to parents who all having young children at home.

Our children think that if Rajesh and Nupur have done this, then even our parents may do it if driven by similar situations and we have the need with this case to prove that parents will not do it senselessly.

If courts decided that they did it, they have to also prove why they did it and expose all truths so that our young minds can be explained.

It is very important more than anyone to these children who lived with Aarusi in her happy times

These children are extended support to Rajesh Talwar and Nupur and showing their solidarity in the smallest ways possible.  They think that parents are innocent ...they are still shedding tears even after 3 years and all waiting for justice

They are walking every mile of their lives thinking that justice would prevail to their best friend

Hope their belief will not be tarnished by Indian Law and judiciary!

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 4- Durrani's were great friends to Talwars...and whats wrong in that?

Aarushi with her mom and best best friend Vidushi Durrani.... with the onset of nuclear and indepent families in urban India, friends become family.... Noida police, please listen and understand this for heaven's sake!

Aarushi with her mom and Anitha Durrani...their parents best friend and her dear aunt.  If she ever suspected that she was involved wrongly with her dad...I dont think this child would have shown such love in this picture

Sid Durrani updates in his orkut profile that every child is special no matter how small or big they are....You can see happy Rajesh with Aarushi and Durrani kids...They were one set of good friends and more like an extended family.....
This picture portrays how happy and loving child Aarushi was and the way she happily clings onto to her dad on the swing with Vidhushi equally loved by Rajesh.... Now stop guessing that Rajesh was her dad and so on.... People, please think out of the box!  Come out of your soap operas cooked and killed the Indian television and thinking by the great Kapoor clad with all K-Serials..... the happy homes are filled with crying television sets every day and our administration and burecracy also thinks only as the Soap Opera's make them think....Wicked mindsets created by the Idiot box!

The only mistakes in life Durrani would have made, is to be close to Talwars.  Praful Durrani was sensible enough to stand by his wife during her character assacinations.   Professionals sharing same work space is quite common in doctor community and the servants cooking stories of friends and sex is equally common.  A maroon called Krishna cooked enough stories to weave around Rajesh and Anitha Durrani's thereby redirecting the case in totally different angle.

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 3- Aarushi and her friends- Common Teenages of Urban India inspired and lively

Aarushi and her best friends Fiza, Sanshe and Vidhushi Durrani....called themselves Awesome Foursome.  They stayed together, studies together and had fun together in their happy days.  They were like any other urban teenages who loves life, pampered by parents, had aspiration to be professional and to them Music and fun is part of their lives.   Whats unusal with Aarushi alone?  Are these three girls also under threat of some kind because of this upbringing?  I wonder the way Police and CBI mimeked this case!

10% of population today have access to social networking sites....9% to Facebook, 2.5 % to Orkut...and of this close 35% are teenages.  Aarushi was one among them.   Is having a technological liberation a crime?

Aarushi had her room filled with stuff toys and books for her appropriate age.  Giving the child the exposure to the best of the world is an every parents aspiration.  Is this a Urban India Parents' grave mistake?

Aarushi spent time with her family and played dumshurads with her dad in this video clip that got telecasted ever since her death.   Does it show a child haunted by a parents mistakes and sexual involvement?  God bless the minds that can only think mean!!!

Aarushi spent her vacations with her parents and extended family---what Urban India parents call Quality Time....does these images portray a neglected child as father is busy with his collegue and mom is with kitty parties....Even they do, I dont think this child was neglected by any means!

Lovely child who never dreamt that her world would be torn apart and her little life investigated from all stupid angles possible.   Press and Police blindly went on to say that her dad not only killed her but cleaned up her private parts...Shame on such thinking.

She was a innocent little girls, brigtening her life with friends and slowly showing her puppy love for a classmates supposed to be showing interest in her and enjoying the fun of it.    Now India Police is not immune to go behind the young lovers in parks on Valentine's day and her calls with Anmol at an average of 15 per day is a crime!.  Ofcourse, parents should have checked what it was?   Must be daunting time for the little boy as well.

If CBI thinks that parents killed, is it not time to send some folks to save these two other girls in pictures, may be their parents also will kill them going forward.  This is exactly what my 11 year old asked me when we were discussing this case at home?   These children were normal urban kids and they had their normal lives.   Imagine in the widest angels because our investigation agencies can only see things with a suspicion always...to them Talwars also look like ordinary criminals.    Nupur's matured way of handling press is because she is a Army kid and Rajesh Talwars on and off anger and frustration is because in the battle of justice they are not only the victimes but accused according to Indian law...which had millions of loop holes to loot the Indian progress and make the Criminals as Politicians and still win their stance....Time to feel regretted!

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 2- Rajesh could not have killed his child

Rajesh Talwar always had his whole world surrounding his daughter Aarushi.   He loved her like every other father and dreamed about her future and aspired her to be a Pediatrician as she hailed from a doctors family.   He loved her and worked day and night for her future and their family to be happy and successful...not to kill her and cling on her portrait for rest of his life with guilt and shame of the tragedy that struck their otherwise happy and busy lives.

The hands that cherished her existence could not have killed her and wiped her from this world!  Shame on the entire relationship of Daddy-Daughter if this case is proved against him.   I strongly believe as sensible parent that he is innocent

Why Talwars wouldn't have killed Aarushi and Hemraj?- Part 1- Reasons for this obsession

The obsession to the Aarushi Talwar case is not because it caught the headlines of all National Newspapers for a continuous three years.  Because as a parent of a teenage daughter, believing in liberal upbringing, and inspiration to make our children grow up with all facilities despite the struggle we had when we were kids, wanting to give the best to our children, compromising to have single kids so that we can given them our world,  and struggling 24/7 physically to make their life's better and more meaningful, Aarushi Talwar case sends shivers to my spine every time I see the little girl's bright eyes and beaming smile that got vanished.  With 90% of similarity with my daughter and her, in their quest for Music, love for books, Co-education schooling, equality between girls and boys as friends, access  to phones, Internet, blogs, books, facebook, orkut and exposure to western world, vacations every holiday just to make sure of the family time, celebrating festivals and birthdays, with no joint family support relying too much on friends and their families and their children becoming close to our children, with our professional challenges making us slog till midnight, every bit of the case is so similar to our lives that this cases sends us waves of caution, and adequate warnings to check and recheck our lives....again and again,...as both working parents, to only child, with every bit exposure of the modern world....time to introduce and caution the children of the gruesome world as well, I guess.....

Now look at the pics of this young girl

1. Do you think she would have involved in sex with a servant almost her fathers age at the age of 13?

2.  Do you think that Aarushi was not a happy child?  Think again and look at her pictures

Euthanasia....The Right to Die with Dignity....Still in Jeopardy!

Clinging on for life
With the Supreme Court of India's most crucial judgement on the Euthanasia or Physician Aided Death to Aruna is fight between common sense and human heart.

By all practical reasons, if you look at the case from a totally non-emotional perspective, you would find the judgement still in jeopardy...for 37 years of punishment of lying in vegetative state of total dependence on others for survival is not a simple thing.  People who have been helping Aruna are doing a marvellous job, at the same time, what is that you are achieving by just keeping her alive for another 20 years awaiting her natural death.   Just like a vegetable awaiting to be rotten by nature.  If she could speak, I think she would opt to go in peace, and die in dignity than showing expressions that have no meaning and looks that dont reach her actual senses.      Same time, if you think from a mere human angle, no other human being has a ethical right to take the life of another.  So there the debate ends.

As a personal victim of such a situation with an ailing aunt, who prayed every minute of her bed ridden days with both her legs immovable and her body sulking, asking all God's she knows for death....I know how important death is at times than just hanging on a life that have no more meaning, but only pain, anxiety and tolerance.    Do we still need to get to such a state of mind, to let go things with grace or still we are so closed minds who cannot understand the real pain and stick to religious contexts, legal bindings and emotional speeches?    Every life will have a death.  How it happens and where it happens no one knows.  In such circumstances, for those whose life's contain no resurrection, a peaceful death would  be a blessing.

Should commend the Supreme Court judgement to transform two important judgements as part of this case:
1.  Making Suicide as a depression act and not a punishable offense.  This is not going to have a larger impact on those depressed minds those already succeed, but would be a great blessing for those who survive such attempts and then realize the importance of life
2.  Consentful removal of the Life Support -  This is again a laudable judgement as most of the hospitals exploiting patients and their relatives in those cases where they know that the end is just at the stroke of a electric button,  would be graceful enough to do the needful at each circumstance.

The real reason why Euthanasia cannot be legalized in India, is for the greed of people that would make things worse in many cases.   Like in George Fernandez who had once been a political tiger is now at the mercy of his relatives and can be susceptible to such a practice for the sake of property and inheritance.   It is good that such a thing is not legalized and will be handled case to case.

Euthanasia one one hand provides relief from extreme pain,  and depriving and demeaned quality of life,  and become a freedom of choice of survival...there by giving more possibility to help those in need, by organ donation and sustaining life as needed through others.....

The flip side of the coin is it devalues human life....for those vulnerable moments of paralyzed existence would mean putting an voluntary or involuntary end to a life...though it would be a blessing for terminally ill.     If there is no road to recovery., then it is best to burn the bridge.    Yet, it takes lot of courage and ethical reasoning to do so.

Every law is made to make lives of the people better, safer and peaceful.  If so, then there can be laws made to let people make choice when they are of sound mind and healthy thoughts.... with exceptional cases like of Aruna where destiny alone can answer to her fate.

How to Stop 'Reply to All' in the Microsoft Outlook

It is annoying when we get people just by default clicking on the 'Reply to All' button for general issues, mailers and newsletters and spamming our mail boxes. It happens very often in every organization. The best part is people draft an email saying “Do not reply all” and send that email to all.

Microsoft has released an add-in for outlook to stop this reply all functionality (if you are not aware of this will be useful tip). The primary function of this add-in is to add a couple of buttons to the Outlook ribbon to prevent people from replying to all the recipients of your message or forwarding it. The addi-in can be downloaded from the following link

360 Degrees...The Story of Afghan.

As a writer, I always have the urge to write what I feel, though I am many a time constrained and been careful not to end up becoming a controversy.  Hence, have delayed writing about one topic, that I kept on following for days now...and thought it should find an end.

Afghanistan.... my country's neighbour.  United States growing attention for vivid reasons.   Like every issue or a concern having 360 degrees of view, the topic of Afghanistan also raises questions beyond normal intelligence.

I heard kids singing "Pakistan,...neee pilakapeekestan" meaning, hello Pakistan, we will pull your pony tails... and  having born in post India-Pakistan division, and during the peak cricket fight between two nations,  there could be no better slogans to us than such things...for our brothers who parted away fighting with us...

A large portion of the tribal lands of Pakistan that could never come under the legal boundaries of Pak, and had their own laws and administration became sooner a breeding grounds for extremities in post World War II days with US and its allies wanting some strong arm to fight against Soviet Union.

The fall of USSR and subsequent slowing down of Soviet Countries, the very arms that got sowed as a support system started to grow as a rebel union.  After the fall of USSR, the tribal lands still survived as the breeding grounds for Mujaheddin who later became slowly sunk as part of the Afghan extremists... who in post nineties emerged with strong footing as Taliban..... Basically if you look closely into this part of history, it is exactly what they sowed is what they are reaping.... be it UK, USA or India in any kind of partnership with both Pakistan or Afghan...

Good-neighbour-Friend syndrome, drives to the reality of the wealth that the country has in its land.  Rich natural gas and mineral wealth of Afghan is not a result of some surveys finding today.  Afghan flourished as a rich culture and long heritage for close to last 4000 years, once being the best of tourist destinations being in Central -Asia.

The war in Afghan and its further protection by any armed forces, be it US or UK, will have no reason to be in the land once Osama is caught dead or alive.  That would mean troops have to be back home in 2011 as per the plan.  But there is a bigger reasons envisioning a long term trade relationship with a country like Afghanistan, that is now devastated by war, terrorism, Taliban and civil agitations in the name of democracy, politics and religion.

No one will dare to take a quick end like Srilankan Rajapaske who took the bold step of making the war against LTTE as National issue than one that needs International support or consideration,  and handling it by going his way and putting an end to Prabakaran..thereby weakening LTTE all of a sudden.  He was strong enough not to let any of his neighbours or supporting countries to indulge in any of his countries internal issues which included LTTE... Taliban is no more an internal issue to Afghanistan and it is more a combined effort of US and its allies to provide support to Afghan...Moreover, as also a friendly ally,  to have its army base any day to fight against any of the Europeon or Asian Nation, just in  case the world is unfortunate to see the III world war in future.

The fall of my Autumn Leaf!

The Fall of My Autumn Leaf!
I was in her life, like a bird on the tree
Flocking here and there, as the days went by

I loved playing with her pulling around
Giggling as we played all aloud

Pushing her and bumped on her like no one did
Cried and fought with her for silly things

I found a mom in her many a time
Made fun, sang songs and rhyme

Gone to many a places with her steps
Just posing as if I am there for her help

We both loved freaking out at movies
And eating all junk food on the ways

She brought me sweet little things that I loved
And pampered me a lot like no one could

We went to Shirdi and prayed together
Used to sit at the sunflower fields and whisper afar

Proudly she taught hundreds of students in the village
There the people showed her real love in her old age

As the bird on the tree, I kept flocking all around
Leaving behind her alone, and unforgotten

Whenever the times made, I ran to see her
Spent some quite moments holding her aged hands

Slowly she started to lose her speech and walk
I used to sit at her bedside and kept silent watch

As the days went by and sickness took over her
She laid alone, silently looking into skies ailing

A year ago, when I went to see her again
She stopped to speak and looked at me with eyes in pain

I took her a radio so that she could hear songs
She showed me the TV that she never watches anymore

She pointed me to the helper of the home
A lady whom she asked me quietly to help as I can

Few months back, I ran to see her again
Hearing that she is failing and ready to go

This time too, I sat there in silence with no words
Silently, tears rolling down my thoughts and cheeks

The hospital bed looked like calling heavens
Somehow I felt that I may not see her again!

As the travel took me to other side of planet
I prayed at all lords I saw, to take her away in peace

I know she was in terrible pain and want to go
But never had the courage to let her go…

Finally as this new year stepped its turn
On another fateful Jan 9, I heard she is gone

I am in pain, a deep pain, a pain of being useless
Not being able to help her when she really needed me

I felt disgusting, that I failed to be there to see her go
May be, its godsend blessing, for it would have been so

Today, I know I don’t have her any more,
As I flock back to my tree as a wandering bird

Yet, somewhere, deep in me, there is a thought
That, that humble soul is somewhere close to my heart!

Yes, she was my real cherished Autumn Leaf
With Tears, I wish, May her Soul Rest in Peace!

My dad’s elder sister, Smt.Vimala Bai, fondly called ‘Pedda attaya’ passed away on 9 Jan 2011. Miss her so much!

Love my Jigzaw puzzle - Traditional Chattel House, Barbodos

I spent a close to 7 hours over the weekend on Saturday, enjoying, struggling, concentrating and finally making it complete, fixing 500 unique shaped pieces of the Colorluxe 500 from Lafayette Puzzle Factory. And here is the outcome...a beautiful house picture...which my husband promised me to get framed up for our home!

Tribute to my Dad...

No amount of tributes will hold a peace to his beloved daughters., for whom he dreamt beyond an ordinary man’s thoughts could go. My dad was like any other loving father in this world, a simple man with a steady job, a happy family of three little daughters with whom he liked playing always, dressing up them like dolls, buying them fancy and otherwise forbidden things by my mom, and also helping them with studies and homework. He had this unique sense of humor and a never compromising smile. He was duly respected by his colleagues and ardently cherished by his friends even today.

So what is special of this person? His specialty is that even after close to 2 decades of his passing away, his presence is felt in the lives of his children every day. His dreams don’t let us rest in peace, and keep us haunting to aspire more and more in life. He taught us what all fathers do and something different too…both in his life and death. His life taught us to be kind, loving, smiling, dreaming and aspiring, playing wonders with words and writing poetry to rekindle our imagination and thoughts, playing shuttle and participating in every damn thing that is competitive in this world, and sometimes win it brightly or smile when we fail and aim again!

In his death, we learnt much more stronger lessons of life. Tolerance, Managing Poverty, that meager resources are never a cause to aspire big, to fight out any odd situations, balance work and personal lives, securing our children’s financial futures, and the need to take care of health, with better lifestyles, and our faith in God and his wonders.

It was on 9th January 1992,Thursday, a chilly winter morning in a then a town, called Eluru in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, that changed our lives forever. The memories of that day and the following haunts me like no other incident in life. The was the first taste of tragedy to three minor girls whose lives was hitherto happy, crispy and smiles filled. Within a hour from the time, he woke me up at 5 am saying that he was having acute pain on his left side of the body, everything was over. I rushed to the family doctor just 4 houses away and pulled him out of sleep to attend on my dad. He said that his cardiac readings are low and we need to rush him to a closeby hospital which has an ECG machine. With help of my neighbor and my best friend, we rushed him to Dr Y. Jagan Mohan Reddy. I can never forgive this doc in my life for the way he handled the situation. May be he was aware that its of no use doing anything further, he said that we have to move him to Vijayawada for getting a Cardiac special treatment. He could have tried to revive or try CPR and keep him stable for a while till his condition stabilized or deteriorated instead, he made me take back my dad home and make travel plans to Vijayawada which was like 60 miles from home. By the time, I was handling all this, I didn’t realize time is running out!. My younger sister was just 11 and sleeping. My grandmom was 65 and crying. I was the only one who could help. I put up a bold face and just don’t know from where the courage came in. Guess what, he asked me to get a paper and pen at 5.40 am and started writing a leave letter to his office….and while doing so in just a matter of 3-4 minutes, the pen fell down from his hand. By then Rajana and his mom, our neighbours rushed. Aunty was working as RN in local government hospital and she checked his pulse and told me to inform relatives including my mom who was then in Chennai with my elder sister……it was close to 5.50 am…I didn’t want to give up. Within seconds, me and Rajana took him a Rickshaw trying to take him back to Dr Jagan again…. With in 5 mins, as we were crossing the temples of Lord Ayyappa and Durga Ma, his head fell on my hands….sending shivers in me for the first time in life. It was 5.55 am, Rajana hugged me tightly. I saw the sun raising in the East above the temples. I know of a sun-set in my hands….

That day I know how much a proper medical care is yet to reach our Rural India. The need for good hospital, sensible doctors and proper medical care is still missing in many towns and villages of India, there by leaving helpless families succumb to unforeseen situations.

Even after I saw his head lying silently in my hands, we rushed him to Dr Jagan’s hospital again. He declared his death. By then few of our neighbours and dad’s collegues reached the hospital. We took a jeep and brought his lifeless body back home. I looked blank. I did not cry. Jai was still sleeping. My grandmom fainted. I just asked Rajana’s mom to take care of her..and then took my dad’s dairy and made the first call to Chennai..informing the worst news I could deliver. The morning left behind a full family of ladies grieving and helpless and futures so very uncertain!. Then, I called my dad’s boss and told him to arrange for some ice as I know it will be a day by the time my family reaches Eluru from Chennai. There were no much of ice boxes like of today in that town then. I took his dairy and rode on Rajana’s cycle to the near by post office…to send the telegrams to a list of my relatives that my dad kept the contacts list in his dairy… The man at counter looked at me with bewilderment. Probably, it was the day, I first broke the glass ceiling in life not even knowing of such a term then. Just because, what was so far expected a man’s domain of handling affairs started to slowly and steadily getting unfolded with me handling the situation. I got back home, stood bravely next to him for long 8 hours, taking politely all the condolences and grieving around....and my first set of relatives arrived. My dad’s sister and family and my uncle..the only male relative in the family at that time. I still stood there without crying. My dad’s office, and neighbours really helped so much… doing everything possible. After few hours, my elder sister and mom arrived with another set of relatives. I hugged my sister tightly and told her that lets sit and watch him whole night for we may never get to see him again after the dawn. She kept crying and I kept staring. Today I really wonder, how did I display such a remorse and unshaken courage? I just don’t know.

Haunting Images of Jan 10th..More Painful!

As the day unfolded and sun rose again…the pain continued. First time, the discussion of who would do the last rites aroused. People were discussing this at my ear’s length. I already know the answer and it was the time to just tell them and stop them guessing. It was my dad’s last words that gave me the direction and courage…that I should take care of my family and do everything for them. Yes, I stood by it. It was his wish I do and it includes with my first responsibility. I was just a young girl in her tenth standard…just 15 years old and shaken. But why the hell that should stop me from my responsibilities. I called my dad’s best friend aside and told him that it was his last wish that I will do his last rites. He did not get shocked for he knew his friend so much. My dad always brought us up with such a care that we can manage our things..and me more like a boy. But my declaration drew a much bigger debate ., that, are girls allowed to cremate , does the religion allow, is it right or wrong, can someone else do with just me watching or being at home after giving the ghee lit sticks and so on.

That was the first taste of gender awareness to me in life. Do we women need to think being aware on those lines? It was not the day for debate. Seeing my anger and pain, my uncle came to rescue. He said that, let Uma do what her dad wished, I will stand by her and help her to carry on the rituals. In the Hindu community, in that town, I didn’t realize it would be a news for long time. Even remembered till this day. Rest of my relatives also did not debate for all of them know that they cannot stay back for more than 2 weeks just in case they take up the responsibility. As everything got arranged, my sister started to yell at peak saying don’t bath my dad in cold water, he never liked it. I was thinking to what extent we go blank in those kind of tragedies. My kid sister stood silently and crying not realizing the bigger impacts of the day in our lives. I don t think people let my mom and grandmom grieve in private and it was so chaotic. I hardly spoke to anyone. Rajana forced me to a cup of milk before I went for the cold water shower. There was an unexpected courage, a sense of new blood flowing all over me, and I came and sat with the pandit and my men folk. As the time came and the palanquin to carry him on his final journey got ready, I could hear cries to the loudest. My dad was just in his forties and well admired in the town. I took the pot with the smoking coal and ghee sticks and walked in front of the crowd with my dad’s cousins all around. It was most traumatizing moments years later remembering that day. I walked through the burial ground, saw my dad for the last time on the pyre and lit the fire with a deep calmness. They forced me not to look back and walk away…but after few steps I quickly turned back and saw the fire raging over his body. That fire is stopped in my eyes forever! I don’t like watching these scenes in movies or attending funerals after that. I go and see people when they are well, they are ailing or when I know they are going to be gone soon…but mostly avoid watching the last journeys unless it is very important to attend.

From that day Death to me is nothing and the only thing ..the only end to every human being. No matter, how rich or poor, how big or small, how good or bad, how healthy or not, this end is inevitable. So worrying about it is not worthy of it. It is important that we make our lives worthwhile while we are still alive. It is worthy to have helped at least few people who would remember us after we are gone.

When did I cry then and how did I overcame it?

It was on Friday late evening I was sitting on the table at the opposite grocery store and staring at the skies. Lot of people went back to their homes. Rajana came and kept talking to me all about daddy. I shouted at him to stop. He said, if you cry, I will stop. I said, I am not getting tears. I am ok. He said, it is wrong sign not to cry at that situation. I smiled back at him saying I am really fine. His mom came and spoke to me saying that I can atleast talk to her. She brought to me few greetings that my dad gave to their family on every Christmas. She spoke on each year Christmas and cried thinking that would influence me to cry. I looked at her for being funny. After having proper dinner in the last two days, I went to bed early. The next morning, at 6 am, Rajana came home and asked me to come out with him. He said, I will take you to pampula cheruvu ( A close by man made lake with lots of taps). I said ok, and told my grand mom not to search for me. He rode me straight to the cremation ground. I shouted on this that he is playing tricks on me early in the morning. He dragged me to the place where we cremated my dad the previous day. He showed a heap of ashes and said, ‘this is your dad,. He is dead and gone. You better realize that. You are acting as if nothing had happened in your life. He is no more, he is not going to take you on his scooter, he is not going to play with you anymore, he is not going to help you in school work. He is dead!’. He made me touch those ashes….I became silent. I kept staring at those ashes for many minutes before I ran back to the cycle and sitting there on the ground. I hid my face in my lap and cried. Cried aloud. Cried till I realized the fact. Cried and Cried. First time the fear of being in a graveyard engulfed on me. First time, I felt back like a little girl after close to 3 days of my dad’s passing away. I felt much better after that incident. I thanked Rajana for being sensible and even today when we speak, we recall the way things unfolded and how slowly I started behaving normal like two of my sisters. At times, the man in me arises….but most often the woman in me remains intact after that day. After few years, when I was describing this to a doctor friend, I remember her telling me that I would have been depressed and suicidical for long many year had it not been the way, the reality dawned on me. For it is not easy to be unnatural for long. It is better to be natural always. Now where is the question of glass ceiling, gender bias and all that feminist scrap. It is good to be out there natural, emotional and the way god made us to be. Same time situations like this teach us not be vulnerable, to be strong and brave.. to be tolerant and sensible., to be focused and move on!

Close to 20 years…Today, it all remains as memories..both good and painful. Teaching us lot of things that no books or studies taught us. Tragedies happen. Dreams get destroyed halfway through. But yet, we should learn to Move On! You can never give up in life no matter what., overcome tragedies, rebuild dream and reconstructing lives is more important. My grand mom went ahead to live with my aunt for the rest of her life till she passed away in 2003…and my mom bravely fought real odds till she shaped our destinies in a different way. My dad dreamt of making us Engineer, Lawyer and a doctor in the order we were born…nothing happened as he dreamt. But well, I guess we made something in our lives for which he would definitely be proud of where ever he is ! If not anything bigger, at least as good human beings and being sensible wives, caring mothers and daughters and above all as professionals, poets and writers.

Today we celerbated the birthday our first son Ajay in the family, whose birthday falls on Jan 11th...and we know....we have moved on with grace, pride and happiness as his daughter till holding his fondest memories intact for ever!
May god let my dad rest in peace! And his dreams continue within our thoughts and actions! Love you Dad and Miss you too!

Benefits of Writing Sri Rama Jayam

Rama Koti is a divine Prasad of Rama Nama Japam and Rama Nama Sankirthanam in Rama Namavalli .

As my husband started the New Year, with writing the Sri Rama Jayam after I mentioned that my grandmother used to write when we were young, my half baked knowledge on the same, made me do a bit of research on what exactly does this practice do to oneself. I was amazed to gather the below information which I would like to share with my readers as the first post of this year!

• Writing Sri Rama Jayam is called Likitha Japam- Writing Meditation. This gives one a complete sense of surrender to an inner conscience and peace while writing the golden words.

• You can write this in any language of your choice. It is the connecting chords with the divine and your inner self.

• In the olden days, the finished Rama Jayam books used to be buried in the foundations of the temples while under construction. It is believed that it used to add divine energisation to the Temples along with laying a strong foundation for a spiritual life of the writers

• It is believed that a calmness engulfs as one indulges in writing the Sri Rama Jayam bringing in more clarity of mind, tolerance and strength to withstand obstacles in life

• The mantra forms an unending stream of bliss and a inner noise proclaiming that the Universe is just expanding giving in more opportunities and prosperity

• As you write this matra – in small measures, every day, as and when possible, with due respect, it makes everything else of life’s needs fall in place automatically., just like a miracle of nature guiding its forces

• The mythological references states that the name of Rama is more strong and divine than the Lord Rama himself. When something is started with Om, Sri Ganesh, Sri Rama, they actually wade away all evil.

• Vedas tell that as the sun dispels the darkness, the chanting of Rama Nama dispels all evil and obstacles of life. It is a way of liberation and salvation of human suffering.

• When you think, that all roads are blocked to walk away from day to day problems, writing ‘Sri Rama Jayam’ gives you the most needed clarity of thoughts to find a way out of odd situations

• Preserve the completed books carefully and donate them to temples. These books are preserved for many years and used during Temple expansions

• Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt Pettadipathi’s in olden days used to give one small ‘Kamatchi Amman’ coins to who ever gives one completed book of ‘Sri RamaJayam’ as a token of god’s grace

• Ramacharitra Manas, Vibhishana Gita and Gita Press and Chinamay Mission discourses talk about the divinity of Rama Nama japa. It is called a writing tapas

• It is said that ‘Crores’ of Rama Mantras in the books are collected and placed in a crypt and used during Yagna’s in the Rama Mandir’s in India. Rama Mandir in Wadala Mumbai preserves them for future.

• Writing competitions of the one lakh Rama Jayam used to be nostalgic memories of growing years of many hindu children. These were preserved as treasures to pass on to their future.

• Hindu way of living is seeing humanity in everything around. Writing Rama Jayam gives you a inner awakening towards to human mind, being kind , calm and serene.

• Chanting Shastra Namavalli, Lakshmi Shastra Namanarchana and above writing Rama jayam is considered a soul-ful experience wading away fear and pain from lives

• The act of writing ‘Sri Rama Jayam’ is important and keep his thoughts while doing so, is more important than the script, language or number., though for all longevity of the process a number in mind is planned while making a start

• A selfless and non-expectation while writing gives you more happiness and potential than expecting something writing. For you are a god’s child, and God knows what you want and will give you what you are destined for and deserve. You don’t need to ask God for anything.

• Devotion of service of life and its varied forms is devotion to God. So there is no right or wrong way of writing this. The very thought and process to write is a connection with god and finds a inner meaning.

• It is a gateway to higher consciousness and spiritual upliftment. The chanting of Ram Mantra protects you with divine flow of energy transforming a balanced progress in your materialistic well being and spiritual wellness

• Ram Ramapati Bank in Varanasi and Ram Ram bank in Lucknow where Ram bhaktas deposit Ram naam in thousands and lakhs. More info is available in the following links.http://www.indiaprofile.com/religion-culture/spiritualbank.htm and http://ia.rediff.com/news/2003/dec/08spec.htm

• Sri Tulshidas writings say that ” If you place Ram naam in the tip of your tongue ( which is like the gate of the temple) then you will see both inside and outside shining with light ”

• “Shri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram” is a siddha mantra and whoever uses it will reap a harvest that he himself can never expect. Numerous saints and ordinary people have benefited from this mantra from times immemorial. In this age of Kali yuga it is a medicine which can fade away sins and all other unwanted things in life. It is advised that we chant Rama nama even when we visit Hanuman temples.

Thanks to many people who throwed more light on this Endeavour making my first post of the year valuable.

Missing Childhood!

Da Rain, Da Heart! Poetry Chain continues.....

Oranges on the tree outside my window!
Lingering in the fresh showers of Rain,
I do not know how it disappeared all my pain!

Now sitting at this window pane
I watch the Oranges glowing on the tree

Lost in my world of thoughts in vain
Wondering about the birds being free

The smell of the Earth with the showers of Rain,
Touch my heart with all its rejoicing train

As the kids watch from the opposite window
wanting to get out and get drenched

The kid in me awakes to a new streams of joy
letting the adult pride die in and life to enjoy

Da Rain, Da Heart, in abundance
The winds blossoming in the tennace

The shrill cries of the ambulances on freeway
hints me someone in danger and pain

I look at the rain, with fervent thought
to take with it the needed help and care caught

There again, the silences adore me
letting me just to listen to the sounds of rain

The little droplets that I hold in my hand
I know they are sending me shivers as magical wand

Some moments they look like sky's blessings
other moments, they are heavy like a girl's tears

Yet, my heart, do not want to calibrate to pains
as my carnival of rejoice, with the rain, regains

As the noon slowly slips into the dust of twilight
Its nice to see the neighbours Christmas lights

With the sparkling droplets of unending rain
I know I have thoughts to cherish and live in pride

......Its a rainy day ...a Saturday afternoon,...I was in midst of my Telugu Vemana Poems translation, when this poem popped up in my brain.... I know, my heart cannot control the words...I have to scribble it somewhere before they disappear....so my blog became my refuge camp today.....
